COMMUNITY IS
CAREER
INFRASTRUCTURE
The problem was never a lack of capable women. It was uneven access to the relationships, sponsorship, visibility, and practical support that help careers move forward.

A note from your host
A Different Kind of Career Infrastructure
We spend a lot of time talking about technology, transformation, and the operating systems behind modern supply chains. This conversation is about the people system underneath all of it. Harshida and I talk about why access matters, what meaningful sponsorship actually looks like, and how a trusted professional community can create the confidence, context, and relationships that help women move into bigger opportunities.
The Reframe
Talent Is Not the Constraint. Access Is.
Social capital is the access created through trusted relationships: the introduction to a senior leader, the recommendation for a stretch assignment, the sponsor who says your name when you are not in the room, or the community where you can ask the question you are not ready to ask at work.
TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS
Career growth often depends on who knows your work, sees your potential, and is willing to advocate for you.
PRACTICAL LEARNING
The most useful professional communities create room for candid questions, shared experience, and lessons that rarely live in a textbook.
VISIBLE LEADERSHIP
People need opportunities to lead important work, present to decision-makers, and build visible proof that they are ready for the next level.

The Ladies Who Logistic Story
From One LinkedIn Post to a Community
Harshida Acharya, Tori Deems, and Amy Dai kept finding themselves among the only women in decision-making rooms. They asked publicly whether a community like Ladies Who Logistic should exist. Harshida recalls that more than 130 women asked to join within a few hours. At the time of recording, she described 31 community events built around learning, connection, and support across career stages.
The message
“Women in logistics should not have to build their careers alone.”

Community figures are guest-reported and reflect the time of recording.

AI + Logistics Leadership
Technology Still Has to Work on the Floor
Harshida’s FulfillmentIQ lens adds another dimension to the conversation: logistics transformation fails when strategy never reaches execution. As AI, WMS, OMS, automation, and integration reshape operations, the people who can connect technology decisions to operational reality will become even more valuable.
Build breadth
Understanding technology, operations, people, and business context creates a stronger base than becoming narrowly fluent in one tool.
Stay close to execution
The best transformation leaders understand what changes for the operator, the warehouse floor, and the people expected to make the system work.

For Leaders
Open the Door on Purpose
01. Sponsor someone. Recommend her for the project, role, or room that creates visible proof of readiness.
02. Make the introduction. A trusted connection can shorten the distance between talent and opportunity.
03. Invite her into the room. Exposure to real decisions builds context, confidence, and leadership fluency.
04. Create space for honest questions. Useful development often starts where people can admit what they do not know.
